On a whim my boyfriend and I went to this great little antique/vintage store down the street from our house.  I went in looking for a vintage jewelry box and was so happy when I found one (and for super-cheap too!).  It is peachy-pink with little gold flowers on the top and the latch works.  I usually do not have the opportunity to browse junk shops like I used to in high school and college, so coming across this find was a good surprise!  I couldn’t resist loading it up with some of my stuff and taking a few pics.  FYI – bathrooms with frosted windows make great photo studios! ∩_∩  Take a peek at this shot and see the little notes I’ve added to the picture.

So I’m changing my mind on the cute little piglet and since I have a pretty big bathtub, I want an Asian otter.  I wonder how they get along with cats…

I want to get rid of my lettuce-eating cat and get a lettuce-eating (and everything else!) piglet.  Okay, maybe not since pigs get really big and my landlord would have a fit, but boy is she a cutie.  And I really like my cat even though he can be a huge jerk!

After a wonderful holiday season with my family, I had a well-deserved rest and now Roscata’s shop it back in full-swing for the springtime.  I know it’s only January (as I sit here in my warm flannel PJ’s), but I can’t wait for the warmer days and the southern California wildflowers to start blooming!

You get to choose which antique Victorian style birdcage pendant you would like:  bright French blue, a pure white, or a light pastel rosy pink.  Bird choices are unlimited; however, as a bird biologist, I tend to go for real birds such as indigo buntings, yellow or white canaries, or red cardinals.  Although a purple or bright pink birdie is still really cute!  Below are some examples of birdcages that I’ve made for my Etsy shop, Roscata – Stuff for People.

If you’re in the area, be sure to check out the Handmade Brigade of Orange County Indie Holiday Craft Show at The Camp in Costa Mesa this coming Sunday on November 1st, 2009.  Click here for a Google map to The Camp.  There are over 40 vendors selling the most amazing creations and I’ll have a table with my wares too.  Here’s a tiny smattering (there was too much to choose from for my nine-pic mosaic!) of what you might find.  This will not be your typical craft show!  Come early and get a free goody bag – a handmade HBOC printed recycled t-shirt bag filled, well, really stuffed to the gills with great swag and goodies from vendors and sponsors.  You don’t want to miss out on these!
